I could easily be trampled to death (this is no exaggeration). My thoughts raced as I imagined what might happen if I fainted. I was literally fighting to breathe as the immense crowd shoved through the main room, trying to get out the back door. The show was sold out far past capacity (where's the fire marshal when you need him). and after my experience last night I will NEVER go to Skully's again! Our daughter was born 10 months ago and I haven't been out much since her birth. My husband and I are both big RJD2 fans and good electronic acts are rare in Columbus.
I'd been looking forward to going for weeks. Unsafe, SCARY crowded!! Staff Rude! – I went to Skully's for the RJD2 show on Feb 5. If these people can't handle the heat, they need to get out the kitchen (or behind the bar.)
Columbus bars are usually full of friendly people – bartenders at least – but Skully's is a far cry from other Cbus bars in terms of their staff. I like their music, but you can bet I won't be giving any of those bartenders my money again. I have never been to a place where the bartenders so freely insult, demean and accuse their customers of lying! I'm also very nice & polite to bartenders cause I understand how stressful it can be. Keep in mind this is usually a pretty crowded place, so finding the boyf was NOT easy.
I offered to show other forms of ID (they had my drivers license w/ my card) but they refused to give me my credit card back & basically accused me of being a liar. I wasn't allowed to close my tab because my boyfriend was holding on to the "tab number" they handed me. One bartender accused me of being underage when I was clearly wearing an over 21 bracelet – and I'm older than the bartender. I was treated poorly by THREE different bartenders for absolutely no reason. While it sucks they have shitty staff, I'm glad it wasn't just me they singled out. Horrible Staff! – I'm happy to see that other people have had bad experiences with the staff at Skully's.
